With the holiday season quickly approaching, give yourself the gift of a visit to the Harvard Art Museums. Explore more than 50 galleries of world-class art, including new works on view, such as a painting by Helen Frankenthaler or a selection of photographs by Diane Arbus. Take in a lecture on the complexities of collecting Chinese art or experience hands-on creative play on Family Day. You can even watch a Bauhaus experimental device in action!

Be sure to check our calendar for more exciting events coming your way. And don’t forget our upcoming Harvard Art Museums at Night in early December.

On Thursday, November 30, the museums will present a screening of artist Dario Robleto’s film The Aorta of an Archivist, which connects the artist’s deep research on the cosmos, the human heart, and the history and philosophical implications of sound recording. A conversation between Robleto and art historian Jennifer Roberts will follow. The event is held in conjunction with the exhibition Seeing in Art and Medicine. Free admission, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

GALLERY TALK

Double Vision

Artists “double” their visual worlds by creating artworks within artworks. On Wednesday, November 29, join curator Miriam Stewart for a gallery talk to explore how these artists create intriguing interactions between painter, subject, and viewer.

From Our Friends
Come out on Saturday, November 18 to the Community Art Center in Cambridge for a free event with author, activist, and mother Jodie Patterson. Patterson will speak about community building, the gender-less act of mothering, and navigating transformation.
