Energy Realism last week focused on what should be the Trump Energy Agenda over the next four years. Energy Realism, thankfully, has finally come back to the forefront.

Brenda Shaffer & Dalga Khatinoglu got us started last week: Iran is experiencing a systemic energy crisis. While many times in the past, Iran has had gas shortages or refined product shortages, this time Iran is undergoing an energy meltdown, with parallel shortages of electricity, natural gas, and refined products. The Iranian energy crisis can affect regime stability. Incoming U.S. President Trump has the potential to capitalize on this and neutralize Iran, a global threat. As David Avella points out, Trump’s pick for new Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, will wisely focus on more fossil fuel development and enhancing human prosperity. He isn’t just an advocate for responsible energy policy – he’s an advocate for humanity. He understands that energy is the foundation for any measurable advancements that lift-up the impoverished, feed the hungry, and shelter the homeless. Clean water, reliable food sources, and robust infrastructural improvements are only possible with energy policies that focus on expanding America’s load capacity and bringing down the price for consumers and businesses alike. Indeed, John R. Hays wants President Trump to end the Greens’ obsession with higher cost and less reliable energy, namely the clearly faulty fixation on wind, solar, and electric cars. President Donald Trump now has a second opportunity to free the U.S. energy industry from unnecessary and expensive regulations.
