Energy Realism last week focused on what we need to do to ensure an affordable and reliable future energy system, something the Biden administration, dangerously, completely ignored.

Alan Armstrong got us started last week: with the DeepSeek news dominating the headlines, we must realize how our own domestic energy can power our AI revolution. In short, however, we need more pipelines, many more pipelines. To ensure America’s long-term competitiveness, Congress must prioritize passing permitting reform. And while renewables like wind and solar can help meet our soaring AI-fueled electricity needs, Lucian Niemeyer demands that we remain realistic on such things. Dictated by higher costs and less reliability, we all know the truth: green dreams have serious limitations. Thankfully, our energy path now has the right man in charge. Brian Morgenstern & Sam Lyman explain why Trump surely had to declare a national energy emergency. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The October 7 terrorist attack in Israel. Sky-high inflation. The crushing price of groceries and other consumer goods. Pain at the pump. One throughline connects some of the greatest failures of the Biden presidency: bad energy policy.
