Energy Realism this past week examined our real go-to source of energy and why the Western net-zero obsession is the ultimate gift for China and Putin.

David Callahan gets us started by describing our emerging energy resource: natural gas. Contrary to what Greens want you to think, natural gas development in the U.S. has been incredibly safe. Amid Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the shift of global energy suppliers, the spotlight is on the foundational role of U.S. natural gas relative to energy security and national security. Too many continue to block gas production and transportation. Daniel Turner looks at Biden’s FERC, which horrifically can no longer be considered non-partisan. The Biden Administration’s war on fossil fuels is multi-pronged. Go after their financing through the ultra-woke ESG movement threatening banks from lending them the necessary capital.

Indeed, the net-zero crowd loves to oppose fossil fuels at every turn. They should know, for instance, that more natural gas is the primary reason why the U.S. has been slashing CO2 emissions faster than any other nation. Duggan Flanakin realizes then that net-zero is the real “climate catastrophe.” The radical Net-Zero Plan, crafted by the United Nations and endorsed by such entities as the World Economic Forum, would press nations to abdicate reliance on fossil fuels, nuclear energy, and even hydroelectric dams in favor of so-called “green energy” that actually isn’t green and doesn’t generate reliable and affordable energy.

In turn, Antti Lehtniemi guides us through the lack of science that is guiding such climate alarmism. For example, Greens may love the new climate law, but as Marlo Lewis makes clear, it doesn’t overturn the recent common sense decision of West Virginia v. EPA. Nothing in the IRA displaces, weakens, or rebuts any of the premises on which the Supreme Court decided West Virginia.
