Greetings!

Today is my dad's 94th birthday! He's had a rough month as he's been in isolation because of MRSA but he only has 10 more days of his antibiotic treatment. Fingers crossed. 🙏

The travel industry continues to soar as you will see in the numbers below. If you haven't purchased your holiday flights yet, what are you thinking?! You probably won't get any deals unless you're extremely flexible …  and lucky. Here are my tips for finding cheap Thanksgiving flights

In this issue:

✈️ Today's Travel Outlook

As of 2:25pm PT, there have been only 101 canceled flights to/from or within the United States and 3,479 delayed. As you can see from the FAA's National Airspace System map above, the northern U.S. is causing some problems. Here's a link to the up-to-date stats and here's what to do during weather delays and flight cancellations.

✅ Today's Travel Tip

12 Tips to Make Thanksgiving Travel Smoother and Safer
There’s no doubt travel is back and it’s going to be crazy for the holidays. With all the talk of a recession and kids going back to school, I thought that the air travel numbers would fall off a cliff. It’s been the complete opposite. In fact, "AAA predicts 54.6 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving. That’s a 1.5% increase over 2021 and 98% of pre-pandemic volumes. This year is projected to be the third busiest for Thanksgiving travel since AAA started tracking in 2000." Here are 12 tips to make Thanksgiving travel smoother and safer

✅ Currency Exchange

€1 Euro = $1.03 USD
£1 GBP = $1.19 USD
$1 CAD = $0.75 USD

How many of these 10 terrible, horrible, no good, very bad airplane habits have you witnessed?

🎁 Travel Product of the Week

This Portable Device Could Save Your Life at Home and When You Travel
The devastating news about three people who were found dead in their AirBnb in Mexico is a sober reminder that carbon monoxide poisoning can and does happen. This portable device can give you peace of mind and protect you and your loved ones

🎁 Travel Gadget of the Year

Bring an air purifier to ensure clean air
The air on planes is filtered through HEPA filters so you should be fine unless your surrounding seatmates have COVID. If you want to ensure you have even clean air while in the air or on the ground, get this Wynd air purifier. I brought it on my trip to see my dad in Connecticut and I used it in the airline lounge, on the airplane, in the car service (when it started raining and we had to close the windows), at my hotel and inside a restaurant. You may get a mixed bag of looks from people. Some will look at you like you’re a freak (like my brother did) and others will be jealous.
