Throwback Thursday with AAS! Cartoon Network Asia Pacific original Exchange Student Zero was presented on the Asian Animation Summit stage in 2012 and premiered on-air three years later in Australia, where it ranked number-one in its Cartoon Network time slot with kids ages five to 12 in the subscription TV universe. The 13 x 22-minute series was a solid performer elsewhere in Asia Pacific, and a standout hit in Taiwan. Exchange Student Zero was created by Australia’s BES Animation for Cartoon Network Asia Pacific. Thanks in part to connections forged at AAS, this studio-network partnership sparked the creation and production of another series called Monster Beach, which debuted earlier this year. Want to be among the first to discover this year’s best new animation concepts developing in Asia-Pacific? This year, you can do it without leaving home! Due to travel restrictions related to COVID-19, we will be running a virtual AAS event this November, as well as working towards hosting the next live event in Bali, Indonesia in November 2021. Registration for AAS Virtual 2020 is now open, and an Early-Bird discount is in effect until Friday, October 30. |
