Stop listening! 1,000 phrases that can trigger Alexa, Siri, Cortana and GoogleEver notice how Alexa or Siri will sometimes seem to activate on their own? No, you're not crazy. Voice assistants can do that, and it all comes down to wake-words. As it is, voice-recognition software isn't perfect, and words that are close enough to the wake-word can trigger these devices by accident. Here's what this means for your privacy. Inspiring rescue: Couple saves bear from drowningBears are curious creatures. Give them an opportunity to find food and they’ll take it — often to dangerous and foolish extremes. A perfect example happened recently in Wisconsin, where a year-old bear got a hold of a container of cheese puffs and finished them all while wading into a lake. Unfortunately, he forgot to take his head out of the container before getting in. As he stumbled into progressively deeper water, the young bear began to panic from lack of air. But thankfully, he wasn’t alone. A family of three just happened to be fishing right near where the bear was struggling, and with a bit of effort, they managed to free him from the container. The bear, overjoyed to fill his lungs with air again, quickly swam across the lake to reunite with his mother. Phew! Bearly made it. Bear cubs can get into all sorts of trouble, and it’s usually pretty cute when it happens. Tap or click here to see a bear cub’s reaction to his new playground home. → |
