Fosse/Verdon — Dancing Legends.

If you’re a Bob Fosse fan, you might have been waiting for this since the teaser was released in January. The miniseries on FX follows the Broadway legend (played by Sam Rockwell) and his creative partner, Gwen Verdon (played by Michelle Williams). Williams nails the role, especially Verdon’s distinctive quavery voice.

No Fathers in Kashmir — Those Who Never Came Home.

More than 70,000 people have died in the Kashmir conflict over the past three decades. But the figure that haunts many is 8,000 — that’s the estimated number of Kashmiris who have "disappeared.” This coming-of-age film tackles the story of the families of "disappeared" Kashmiris, told through the eyes of a young girl searching for her father.

What We Do in the Shadows — Monster Mockumentary.

This series, based on the 2014 cult film, follows a household of three vampires who have all the frustrations of regular roommates, but they also suck human blood and live forever. The show manages to perfectly capture the film’s deadpan style in a rare example of a spin-off not ruining everything.

The Murderbot Diaries — A Robot With Feelings.

This four-part (so far) series by Martha Wells follows a giant robot with a lot of emotions that secretly calls itself Murderbot. The novellas dance around questions of artificial intelligence, humanity and sentience with clever humor, drawing you into the story of the beloved bot at the heart of it all.

WHAT TO PLAY

Quiplash — Your New Favorite Party Distraction.

Sometimes the party just lulls, and then you have a house full of people looking at their WhatsApp messages rather than caring about your fabulous gathering. That’s why it’s always good to have games in reserve, and Quiplash is a great option because it’s almost impossible to lose interest in or ignore.

Basically, the game asks players to answer simple prompts on their phones like “How would you fix the economy?” — then the answers are pitted head-to-head and players vote. Repeat. And repeat. You wouldn’t think such a simple game would work so well, but it’s impossible to tear yourself away from, and it’s great for getting the creative juices flowing.

Forget your side dishes. Residents of Jackson, Mississippi, say plates of mashed potatoes have been appearing around their neighborhood. They’ve been found in mailboxes, on top of cars and on porches. The police haven’t been involved, and there are no clues as to a motive. Locals say it doesn’t appear malicious, though nobody has tasted the potatoes.
