Yep, you read that right – but hear us out. You see, this new venue, The Phoenix, comes from the team behind the really-quite-excellent The Hawks Nest down the road in Shepherd’s Bush Market. In fact, it was the success of that al fresco cracker that prompted them to open this new spot. We’re thinking you’ll be glad they did.
It’s going for the same verdant, lush vibe that people love so much at The Hawks Nest, with an outdoor terrace kitted out to resemble an English country garden. It’s pretty cute. It’s also huge, with space for 400 outdoors until late, and another 250 revellers inside up until midnight, with entertainment coming from DJs, quizzes, comedy and loads of other live stuff.
And that street food? We’re talking more of those Neapolitan sourdough pizzas that make Hawks Nest so popular, plus burgers, aged onglet steak with skinny fries, serious salad boxes and authentic flavours from Mexico, Israel and across Asia. Plus there’ll be a high-quality cocktail list, too – think exceptional Margaritas, Lychee Martinis and a lip-smacking Passionfruit Mezcalita.
Still not enough? How about some thirst-quenching mocktails, Budvar delivered straight from the Czech brewery, and a top-notch cast of craft beer? A huge mural of a phoenix from Annie-Rose Fiddian-Green? A plated herb entrance arch created by award-winning florist Lucy Vail? A collection of artworks from London-based, up-and-coming artists curated by MC Llamas? Come on, that’s a lot of bang for your buck.
