Good evening everyone,

Four key stories from today's coronavirus news concerning travel, the construction industry,  the 'R' number, and further easing of lockdown measures...

  • The prospect of a five mile legal travel limit on Scots drivers has been shelved after a fall in the number of people flouting coronavirus guidelines, Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf has confirmed
  • The construction industry can move from its preparatory phase with work on building sites given the green light to resume and be restored to full capacity 'gradually'
  • Scotland's 'R' number has fallen to between 0.6 and 0.8 but needs to be a lot lower, ideally zero, before more restrictions can be lifted
  • First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is 'hopeful' of being able to announce further lockdown easing measures by this time next week
