BIG BAR TAB: Back in September, Keith Schroth said he charged “maybe three, four, $5,000” on an LSU foundation credit before he was ousted from his position as an LSU Health Sciences Center executive in New Orleans. But a newly obtained investigative report shows he racked up as much as $18,100 for routine outings at bars, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Harrah’s casino.
NEXT MAN UP: When the New Orleans Saints on Sunday play a Tennessee Titans team that has won five straight games, they will do so without three of their most important players. The Saints have ruled out running back Alvin Kamara (injured knee), offensive tackle Terron Armstead (knee, shoulder) and defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson (foot), meaning substitutes will be needed for the team's best overall player, its All-Pro left tackle and one of its most versatile defensive backs.
BACK TO COURT: Jack Strain, convicted Monday of sex crimes with underage boys, is scheduled to return to court Dec. 6 for another trial, this one in a somewhat related but separate case that has the former St. Tammany Parish sheriff charged with 16 counts ranging from wire fraud to bribery. But with Strain already destined to prison for life for four aggravated rape convictions in state court, the questions are whether he will enter a plea agreement on the federal corruption charges, and whether prosecutors even offer one.
