 ♻️ Repair Café at City Hall

In celebration of Circular Economy Month,
our next Repair Café will be in collaboration with the City of Ottawa!
 
Repair Cafés aim to reduce landfill waste by fixing items, teaching new skills, and building community! Our fixers and menders will be sharing their knowledge and skills around fixing everything from darning socks to re-wiring kettles.

Due to popular demand, OTL is looking for instructors to deliver DIY classes on refinishing furniture and upholstery. If you are interested in participating as an instructor, please email Stéphanie and we can iron out the details!

WorkSpace Safety 201 Workshop for Women+
This course is for women+ who want to use the following tools in our WorkSpace: router, planer, jointer, and table saw!
Wednesday, October 4th at 6pm

 
Knife Sharpening Workshop
Like most things, knife sharpening just takes some guidance, time, and practice. In our two-hour class, you will learn how to hand sharpen your knives on whetstones!
 
Wednesday, October 18th at 6pm

 
WorkSpace Safety 101
and 201 Workshops

Introduction to different power tools and a required course for anyone who wants to use certain tools in our WorkSpace. 
 

 
Intro to Woodworking:
Make a Keepsake Box

The basics of woodworking will be taught by turning a thin piece of wood into a beautiful box!

Last month we pulled a float behind a bicycle
and handed out screwdrivers at the Ottawa Pride Parade!
