SC Codes program to expand

The S.C. Department of Commerce’s Office of Innovation and Greenville-based nonprofit Build Carolina are expanding SC Codes, a statewide program to provide residents with free access to coding education. The program will grow the number of partners across the state, add course content, increase the number of participants and explore plans for certifications and apprenticeships.

Southwest adds flights to Atlanta, Kansas City

Southwest Airlines is adding flights from Charleston to Atlanta and Kansas City, Mo., in June. Flights to Atlanta will operate daily, and service to Kansas City will run on Saturdays.

S.C. insurance director to lead national association

S.C. Department of Insurance director Ray Farmer will begin his term as president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners on Jan. 1. Farmer said he plans to focus on increasing resiliency in addressing natural disasters, finding a solution to issues regarding long-term care insurance products, and improving cybersecurity standards.

Fieldshop by Garden & Gun will host a pop-up shop from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday with home and lifestyle goods brand Storyteller. The pop-up is at the Dewberry Hotel, at 334 Meeting St.
