Chamber, CofC partner to help small businesses

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and the College of Charleston School of Business have partnered to provide free consultations to businesses affected by the new coronavirus. The program, called Profs on Call, matches business school faculty with small business members of the chamber for 15- to 20-minute consultations.

Unemployment insurance claims soar in S.C.

For the week ending March 21, the state saw 31,054 intrastate unemployment claims, an increase of approximately 1,600% from the previous week, according to the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce. Horry County had 5,258 claims.
