Lowcountry hospice provider acquired by national company

A national in-home senior care company has acquired Lowcountry Companions, a Mount Pleasant-based provider of home and hospice care. Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 and has hundreds of franchised and owned businesses across the country, including an additional location in Mount Pleasant.

ECPI University reopens campuses

ECPI University has reopened all of its Southeastern campuses, including those in North Charleston, Greenville and Columbia, with safety protocols in place. University leaders said many classes will continue to meet remotely but most include some type of hands-on learning, which requires the campuses to reopen.

Some attractions allowed to open Friday

Attractions including zoos and aquariums will be allowed to open, provided guidelines established by the AccelerateSC task force are followed. Sports leagues can resume practice May 30.

Navigating landlord-tenant issues in COVID

The Small Business Development Center in Charleston is holding a one-hour webinar on navigating landlord and tenant disputes during the era of COVID-19. The no-cost webinar will include expert advice from attorneys Alex Juncu and Nicole Paluzzi. Topics such as tenant rights, eviction, residential protections and the changing outlook for commercial property also will be discussed. Registration for the digital event is required.
