Defense summit to focus on warfighting innovations

The Charleston Defense Contractors Association’s summit Dec. 11 and 12 will focus on warfighting innovation. The summit is the organization’s largest event and draws companies from across the nation who are involved in information warfare technology.

S.C. DOT opens I-526 Lowcountry Corridor project office

The S.C. Department of Transportation has opened an office on Rivers Avenue focused on providing information about the Interstate 526 Lowcountry Corridor West project. The office will be open at least five days a week for community members to ask the project team questions as the project ramps up.

Study: NCAA regional in Columbia generated $11.3 million

The NCAA men’s basketball regional held in Columbia in March brought a direct economic impact of $11.3 million to the capital city, a study by University of South Carolina sport and entertainment management professor Tom Regan found.
