Gotcha acquired by West Coast scooter company for $12M

Gotcha Mobility LLC, the Charleston-based company operating dozens of bike and scooter programs across the country, has been acquired by Ojo Electric Corp. of Oxnard, Calif., for $12 million. The merger is expected to close by the end of the year. Ojo Electric is approximately 2 years old and went public on the TSX Venture Exchange in July.

Naval Information Warfare Center names new director

Peter C. Reddy has been named the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic’s new executive director, after serving as the acting executive director since July.

Tickets on sale for TEDxWhitePointGardenWomen

Tickets for the first TEDxWhitePointGardenWomen event are now on sale. The year’s event, themed “Bold & Brilliant,” will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the The Pearl Theater in West Ashley. Tickets are $75, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and entry into the after-party reception from 3-5 p.m. at Frothy Beard Brewing. Speakers will be Carson Kosar, Nichole Myles, Dr. Heather Collins, Irene Rose Yereb, Debra Nelson, Heather Holmquest, Patrice Witherspoon, Dr. Donna Roberts and Henrietta Woodward. TEDx is a series of local, self-organized offshoots of the national TED conferences, with the “x” signaling that it was independently organized.
