The Hungaroring has hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix for the last 35 years, but the 2020 race in July was the first with no fans in attendance.

It's time to do something about that.

The Hungarian Grand Prix will return in 2021, with fans back in the grandstands in full force - and you can be there for a weekend of racing in Budapest.

Traditionally the final race before the summer break, every team will be battling to go into the break on a high making it a hugely competitive race. This technical circuit calls for heroics, and as negotiations start as "silly season" gets underway, every driver will be looking to make an impression.

But it's not just on-track action that makes Hungary a great race. Half-an-hour from Budapest, you can discover all this cultural city has to offer, or devour as much Hungarian beer and wine as you can handle. The choice is yours!

WHY GO TO HUNGARY?

The Hungaroring is a staple race on the Formula 1 calendar. Traditionally the final race before the summer break, it provides an opportunity for every driver and team to gain an edge over their rivals.

Just half an hour's drive from Budapest, you'll be able to make explore one of the cultural capitals of Central Europe.

The Danube river flows through the picturesque city, with sights away from the track including Buda Castle, and the thermal baths. If you haven't spammed your Instagram by the time you return, you haven't done Buda right.

The Hungaroring flows from one corner to another. Each exit leads directly to the next corner entry, making it an unrelenting circuit for the drivers.

It makes for a technical masterclass for the drivers, who will reach top speeds of around 310kp/h on the lap.

A weekend in Hungary means a weekend trying as many Hungarian wines, beers and dishes as you can handle.

And if you want to take your Hungarian beer experience to the next level, you'll want to hire a party bike. Yes, a bar on wheels; surely the way to get around the city.

Budapest is a favourite city for travellers all year-round wanting to get away for an affordable city break, and that makes it a great option to expereince Formula 1 on a budget.
