Happy Friday and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for March 17. It may be the offseason, but there is still plenty of news on Airline Drive at the Saints’ facility. Tight end Juwan Johnson spoke to the media about the 2-year deal that he just signed with the team. Saints writer Luke Johnson wrote about Johnson going from an undrafted guy to making his mark on the team. The Saints also re-signed punter Blake Gillikin. While Gillikin will be back, he’ll be wearing a different jersey number than the No. 4 one he’s worn for the past two seasons. Why? Well, he’s giving that number to new quarterback Derek Carr, who has worn that number his entire NFL career. See what Gillikin said on social media about the change. Safety Marcus Maye had the charges dropped for a road rage incident in Jefferson Parish last year. Here’s a little more on running back Jamaal Williams, who the Saints signed in free agency Wednesday.
