TikTok Removed 49 Million Videos in Second Half of 2019
 

Good morning,

TikTok gave a look under the hood yesterday and shared what sort of content it removed from the platform in the second half of 2019.

In all, the platform removed more than 49 million videos for violating content policies. To compare, YouTube removed around 14.7 million videos during the same period.

Of the content TikTok removed in December:

  • 25.5% violated policies on adult nudity and sexual activities
  • 24.8% violated “minor safety policies,” like underage alcohol or drug use
  • 21.5% showed illegal activities
