How Donald Trump Lost the War on TikTok
 
 

TikTok felt the wrath of Donald Trump over the last year, but fleetingly. Trump's reasons for targeting the platform were myriad (sometimes squishy), like concerns about national security, data privacy or plain-old personal vendetta. 

Despite a flurry of TikTok creators pleading with followers to join them on Instagram, the platform remains intact. It’s never been stronger, writes Scott Nover, who spoke with experts about how the platform outlasted the outgoing president.
