Time enough at last. Before it was a Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last was a short story by Lynn Venable. While we seemingly have all the time in the world right now to reread every book we own, bookstores and libraries are considered nonessential in most areas sheltering at home. This has forced many neighborhood mainstays to simply close their doors with no option for sales if they weren’t already offering online shopping. For a few, there is the option to shop online, although fulfillment differs from merchant to merchant. Several are resorting to gift card sales similar to how many restaurants are coping. Others are drop shipping to fulfill orders at this time. Stores unable to fulfill online sales are engaging with customers in other ways like podcasts and online story times. Each store is different.
