If LSU baseball wants to be a top-eight national seed in the NCAA Tournament starting later this month, with all that means for enhancing the Tigers' chances of reaching the College World Series, they simply must come through in the clutch. Six games remain in the regular season: three at home with Arkansas starting Friday and three next week at South Carolina. The Tigers can't afford any more losing series like the one they just had at Texas A&M, blowing a 4-2 lead in the eighth Sunday in what turned into a 6-4 defeat. The Tigers have had their faults this season, but so has everyone else. No one is immune. It's how Texas could stay at No. 1 despite being swept this past weekend at Arkansas. Still, LSU can't count on the other SEC contenders for national seeds continuing to get devoured in the conference meatgrinder. It's time for the Tigers to go out and take what they want, which is one of those coveted national seeds. The LSU softball team had a Heaven(er) opener in the SEC Tournament on Wednesday in Athens, Georgia, as pitcher Jayden Heavener led the Tigers to a 5-0 shutout of Mississippi State with a complete game one-hitter. Now LSU takes a step up in class as the No. 9-seeded Tigers face top-seeded Oklahoma at 10 a.m. Thursday on the SEC Network. Former LSU basketball star Angel Reese continues to make headlines on and off the court, forming a new partnership with basketball legend Magic Johnson to promote literacy in her hometown of Baltimore. Angel and Magic. Sounds like a marketing dream team. The LSU women's golf team rallied on its final nine holes to claim the last transfer spot from the NCAA Columbus (Ohio) Regional to the NCAA Championships later this month. It will be the Tigers' fifth straight NCAA appearance. That's all for today, friends. Thank you as always for reading and subscribing, and please tell your other LSU fan friends about us.
