Welcome to our first-ever Arts Week! All this week, we’ve been listening to artists, performers, curators, writers and directors as we explore the arts. Pull out your paintbrushes, pencils and powerful socio-political statements – it’s time to get creative.
The theme for Arts Week 2022 is “Art is Everywhere”. From Friday night concerts to riveting podcasts to early morning birdsong, our ears are always full of art. To misquote a handsome English man, “if you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love art actually is all around.”
Every one of us, from the learned art professor to the last-picked at Pictionary, has art in our lives. Art enriches, connects, comforts and inspires us. We turn to art to explain the inexplicable – Artist returns to Europe’s most divided city – to celebrate the individual – Remembering Olivia Newton-John – and to get lost in new worlds – Tim Winton’s Cloudstreet.
In one form or another, art manages to engage and inspire us all. Celebrate the wide and wonderful world of art on ABC listen. |
