Dear Friend, Welcome back to my Week in Review newsletter. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of South Carolina! Time to Get to Work Click here to view images of Senator Scott’s swearing-in. This week, I was sworn into the 118th Congress for my second full term in the United States Senate. Thank you for your support and trust in allowing me to serve as your senator. I have great hopes for my team's work on behalf of South Carolinians and all Americans. This Congress, I’m excited to serve as the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, where I will continue my work to ensure that every citizen across our great nation can live their American Dream. The Biden administration's focus on enlarging the federal government has continuously burdened hardworking farmers and landowners in South Carolina and across the nation. For states like South Carolina, which has wetlands comprising a quarter of our land area, this new WOTUS rule would have a disproportionate negative impact. More regulation over private waters would take power away from hardworking farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, homeowners, and small business owners and put it in the hands of the EPA. As I have always done, I will continue to fight against Washington bureaucrats in this new Congress. Read my statement in full here! Losing classmates, friends, or loved ones can often be difficult for children to process. The new Memorial Hope Garden at Pickens Elementary is a touching and long-lasting tribute to two classmates they lost and a comforting reminder of hope for students and families.
