EuroportMasterclass teaches future-proofing HR

Friday 10th November is Human Capital Day at Europort 2017. One of the key events being held as part of this themed day is the Masterclass on 'How HR can make your organisation future-proof’. Organised by Rotterdam Ahoy in conjunction with Netherlands Maritime Technology, this interactive session will show how taking a fresh perspective on HR can be beneficial in protecting your business against future changes and in achieving the business results you are aiming for. Speakers include Erik van Vulpen, Analytics in HR; Arold de Vries, Damen group; and Patrick van de Ven of Venturn. Through their presentations they will discuss how companies can attract and retain young talent and high-performing employees, plus how to leverage HR data, analytics, and predictive models to good effect. For more information and to register for the Masterclass go to: https://www.europort.nl/programme/europort-masterclasses.

EuroportPutting talent on display

Stand 6615 will house a special student exposition, where young people will demonstrate how they can make a significant contribution to innovation through their ideas. A visit to the stand will quickly demonstrate how important it is to invest in the employees of the future. You will be able to look at ten different innovations and ideas on display and on the Friday afternoon the students will pitch their ideas at a special Speakers’ Corner. The team voted the best by a jury will receive a special award for their concept. There will also be an award from the public who are invited to leave votes for their favourite concepts at the stand.

EuroportYoungShip seminar

On the Friday afternoon, YoungShip is holding a seminar on 'Captains of industry and how to become one’. During the seminar, leading maritime business leaders will share insights into their day-to-day working lives. How did they become successful? What characteristics are required to be the best of the best? What experiences are needed?  And is their life as glamorous as it seems? These and other questions will be answered at the seminar, which will end with networking drinks, giving attendees the chance to meet informally with high-level representatives of prestigious companies and institutions.

EuroportMeet Your Peers Event

Europort is a strong proponent of encouraging the next generation to shape the maritime industry. For this reason, the last day of Europort 2017 exhibition includes the Meet Your Peers Event, organised by Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT). On behalf of NISS (Foundation National Institute of Shipping and Shipbuilding) NMT organises a writing contest for students based on the following four maritime themes: Extraction at sea, Smart & safe seafaring, Clean vessels and Effective infrastructure. During the Meet Your Peers Event, students will be given further information on this contest, can take the opportunity to meet each other and will be introduced to maritime companies exhibiting at Europort.
