The proceeds of this lot will go to support the Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival. Steadman is best known for his collaboration with the American writer Hunter S. Thompson for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Many of the British public may know him for his work with the off-licence Oddbins and the covers of their magazine which were illustrated by Steadman. Lot 8 includes 7 copies of this magazine.
Elsewhere in the sale there is no lack of figurative portraiture, abstract art and landscapes to entice all tastes and budgets. |
