The Coronavirus Travel Ban Is Being Expanded

A few days ago when President Trump instituted the European travel ban, he had people scrambling to get back home. He also had people scratching their heads when he excluded the United Kingdom and Ireland. Well, today the Vice President said that the United States is going to restrict travel to and from the United Kingdom and Ireland beginning Monday at midnight. Trump has also said that he's "considering" a domestic coronavirus travel ban from certain areas of the country. I think New York, Washington and California will be first, and then eventually the whole country, but let’s hope it doesn't go that way. In any case, you should prepare for it so that you’re not stuck away from home.

The DHS proclamation, which hasn’t been updated yet, lays out the process awaiting Americans returning to the U.S. from countries included in the ban. If you’re an American citizen, a legal permanent resident, or the immediate family of one of them, you’re still allowed back into the country, even after the changes on Monday at midnight. However, you'll need to go through one of these 13 airports for screening and then need to self-quarantine for 14 days: Click through to see the list of airports, how the airlines are responding and my personal thought.
