Dear Healthcare Provider, The FORCE Community Expands. FORCE has exciting news to share with you! As the world of hereditary cancer has evolved, so have we. Now that genetic testing can identify mutations in BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2, PTEN and dozens of other genes that are associated with hereditary cancers, including genes that are linked to Lynch syndrome, FORCE has evolved right along with the science. We have expanded our mission beyond the common pink and teal to now include, inform and support even more people with or at risk of hereditary cancer. Our new mission states: We are excited about this growth and our ability to serve people with additional mutations and cancers, and hope it provides valuable resources to even more of your patients. We look forward to continuing to serve this larger hereditary cancer community by: -
providing access to the most current data and research to help people make informed medical decisions; -
creating a strong, supportive community; and -
advocating for awareness, access to care, research for better prevention and treatment options and, ultimately, for a cure.
Our new tagline says it best: Many Mutations. Many Cancers. One Community. While there are many mutations and many cancers, there is just one community—the FORCE community—that supports anyone who is impacted by them. We hope you will review our new website and share our resources with all of your hereditary cancer patients. If at any time you need additional brochures, please email Support@facingourrisk.org or order online at www.facingourrisk.org/brochure. Thank you for the important work that you do to help members of the hereditary cancer community make informed decisions about their health. Warm regards, Sue Friedman Executive Director |
