Get ready for AI-dubbed YouTube videos
| If translated subtitles aren’t for you, then these new dubbed videos will be just the ticket!
| YouTube has reportedly started rolling out a new translation feature for its content creators that will use AI to automatically dub a video’s contents in up to nine different languages — without changing the sound of the speaker’s voice. According to X user @levelsio, YouTube will use AI to auto dub videos into English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Hindi, Indonesian, and Japanese. The new feature will arrive for creators’ channels in the coming weeks but at the start will only be available to newly crafted content, rather than existing videos. YouTube started testing the clever dubbing feature, originally known as Aloud, in 2022, and it now appears to be ready for prime time ... | |

Clicks: They say this iPhone keyboard gives your mobile superpowers | Typing on a smartphone isn’t bad, but it’s not exactly productive either. If you’re typing out a long email, message, or working with a document, chances are you’re going to migrate to a laptop or computer. That's because it's more satisfying to work on a full size keyboard, even a compact one. The answer, usually, is to grab a standalone portable or compact keyboard that works with your phone. But there’s a much better solution that won’t empty your bank account. Cue Clicks, or more aptly, the Clicks iPhone keyboard ... | |

Image: Zeke Jones / Digital Trends | Samsung QN90D 98-inch review: solid and classy, but worth the price tag?
| 'The QN90D series is excellent, but the 98-inch model fell apart for us' | In his hands-on review of Samsung’s 98-inch QN90D television, Digital Trends’ home theater expert Caleb Denison praises its excellent color accuracy, deep blacks and impressive contrast, solid onboard sound, and “sparkling” HDR brightness. But despite there clearly being a lot to love about Samsung’s whopper, the TV comes up short in two areas. First, it seems to have an image-processing issue — Caleb's report includes an example — though to be fair, it only appeared very briefly. The other stumbling block is the TV’s $9,000 asking price, which is felt to be simply too expensive ... | |

Two new movies are destined for box office glory this weekend
| But Wicked, the visually stunning adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical, will come out on top | Universal Pictures’ Wicked is set to storm the box office on its debut this weekend, raking in a colossal $120 million — or possibly as much as $140 million — at movie theaters across North America alone, according to Boxoffice Pro's forecasts. “Superstars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are lighting up the promo circuit, and unlike 2019’s Cats cat-astrophe, Wicked is being greeted with resounding critical praise at 92% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes,” Boxoffice Pro said. And there’s another blockbuster arriving in North American theaters this weekend: Gladiator II. The Ridley Scott-directed epic is estimated to take up to $75 million, while festive comedy Red One, on its second weekend, is set to place third ... | |

Image: Jacob Roach / Digital Trends | Valve takes stern stance on season passes and DLC in new guidelines
| Valve is holding developers accountable for their season passes | Valve is implementing new pro-consumer guidelines for developers that'll force them to be clearer about their Steam season passes and to offer refunds if launch plans change, Digital Trends reported. "If you aren't ready to clearly communicate about the content included in each DLC and when each DLC will be ready for launch, you shouldn't offer a Season Pass on Steam," Valve wrote in new guidelines. It added that a developer implementing a season pass is "promising future content" to the player, with a "commitment" to follow through on those promises. Rather than an outright ban on season passes, Valve is choosing to hold developers more accountable if something goes wrong ... | |
