A multimillion-dollar supercomputer used by the U.S. government between 2017 and 2023 could be snapped up for a fraction of the price as it goes under the gavel.
The 5.34-petaflop machine, called Cheyenne, is being auctioned right now by GSA Auctions, and interested buyers have until Friday to place their bid.
“While we haven't tested this one ourselves, we assume its 145,152 CPU cores will easily outperform our current top pick for a laptop,” Engadget quipped. “You also won't need to upgrade the memory anytime soon, as there's a full 313,344GB of RAM currently installed, and the storage capacity tallies up to around 36 petabytes. No need to delete files to make room for new games or other media downloads” ... |

Most of us hate alarms, especially those that jolt us from a cozy slumber. But when we set them, it’s usually for a very good reason, and so missing one can cause a big problem. A number of iPhone owners have recently complained about their handset’s alarm failing to sound, prompting Apple to look into it. The tech giant has now acknowledged the fault and said that a fix is on the way. The issue appears to be linked to Apple’s Attention Aware feature, which is erroneously detecting attention and lowering the volume of alarms even when the iPhone isn’t actively being used, Digital Trends reported. What Hi-Fi? described the new headphones as offering “a fun-focused, energetic listen, with a push towards midrange clarity,” and it also praised the battery life. PC Mag liked Solo 4's accentuated bass and highs, but criticized the price ($200) and lack of active noise cancellation and adjustable EQ. Tom’s Guide gave a thumbs-up to the collapsible design, cross-platform compatibility, and good voice call quality, but a thumbs-down to the “so-so design quality” and, again, the lack of noise cancellation.
