| Elon Musk and his company X (formerly Twitter) have defeated a lawsuit alleging that around 6,000 former employees at the company were owed at least $500 million in severance pay when they were laid off following Musk's takeover, Bloomberg reported. The plaintiffs said the ex-employees only received severance worth one month’s pay, and claimed that the provisions of the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) meant they were entitled to more. But the U.S. District Judge handling the case in San Francisco ruled on Tuesday that the employees’ claims weren’t covered by the ERISA “as the company told employees after Musk’s takeover that any who were let go would only get cash payouts,” Bloomberg reported ... | |

Xbox Game Pass is getting a price hike alongside a complicated tier overhaul

| Microsoft is rolling out price hikes and tier changes for Xbox Game Pass, its video game subscription service. Notably, Microsoft will no longer allow people to buy Game Pass for Console. While existing subscriptions won't be affected, people will have to instead opt for Xbox Game Pass Core or the new Xbox Game Pass Standard tier, which is launching "in the coming months."
