The annual IFA tech show is just wrapping up in Berlin and Digital Trends was there to check out all the new gear, including futuristic laptop concepts packed with AI and next-gen processors. So what stood out? For starters, the Lenovo Auto Twist AI laptop is notable for enabling voice-activation to open its lid, rotate the screen, or convert into tablet form. Call it gimmicky, but it was fun to play with in person. Huawei's remarkable Mate XT smartphone has three folds instead of the two that we see on today’s other foldables. The Mate XT's OLED screen can open up to a total of 10.2 inches — the same size as many tablets — and has a 16:11 aspect ratio. Sony has announced two new high-end 4K laser projectors, the Bravia 8 and Bravia 9

Sony’s new 4K laser projectors include Bravia in their names, which you may recognize from the company's premium TV lineup. That’s because the Bravia Projector 8 (VPL-XW6100ES) and Bravia Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES) are the first Sony projectors to incorporate the company's advanced XR Processing technology found in its Bravia OLED TVs, Digital Trends reported. Both projectors feature native 4K resolution and share Sony's "XR Processor for Projector," a modified version of the Bravia TV processor that offers a whole range of features, including Sony's XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black, XR Triluminos Pro, and XR Clear Image tech, to deliver what Sony says is "a professional-grade cinematic experience" ... |

Larry David has announced a new tour called “A Conversation With Larry David” that will visit 10 cities in the fall, Variety reported. The tour will start on September 20 in Denver and will visit cities including Seattle, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Portland, Phoenix, and Austin before winding up in Hollywood, Florida, on December 5. At each show, the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator and star will be joined by a mystery moderator. In a characteristically jokey performance shared on Instagram, David said it might be worth coming along to the show “if you have nothing to do,” adding that it could also be “a total waste of your time” ... |

Similar to the PS4 Pro, the PS5 Pro mostly offers a spec bump for players who want the best graphical fidelity, with a larger GPU (67% more compute units than the regular PS5) that promises to produce 45% faster performance during play. It features PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which uses machine learning to help target higher frame rates similar to Nvidia's DLSS or AMD's FSR, and "advanced" ray tracing for more realistic lighting in the video games that support it. The premium console has done away with the disc drive and will cost a hefty $700, which is $300 more than the PS4 Pro when it launched in 2016 ... |
