Good morning,

While coronavirus cases in Louisiana continue to spike, tracking where the state is in "flattening the curve" is a little harder than just reading the latest LDH data.

A big part in this is how delayed test results can contribute to an alarming uptick, such as Thursday's 42% increase in confirmed cases.

A good portion of those results came from commercial lab backlogs, further muddying officials' views of conditions on the ground.

Still, there are a few other metrics that can help paint a clearer picture of Louisiana's fight against the infectious disease.
