"When You Fly You Can't Stop to Think"
Tilsa Otta
Translated from the Spanish by Farid Matuk
Less plastic in bottles
Easier to crush when you're raging
In those moments you can recycle everything with your own hands
Lucky world that it can count on you
Saturn's rings suit your fingers
You're all-powerful when you tell the truth
The gods use megaphones
Because some refuse to listen
They drink the water and no longer have anywhere to walk
The fourth dimension of desire
Reproduces the wind in your gestures
This night crashes into the cars
I have feelings I found inside you
Garbage trucks come out of the sky
Where abysses are lit up by the promise of seeing you
You leave me until you come back
The days that separate us are lost souls
Soon they'll be able to rest in peace and fade away
The future will be a garden of children of flowers of stones
Of skin particles that every day slough off of love
And in smoke signals they ascend
                                                                                    Ascend

Lxs diosxs usan altavoces
                                                                                    Ascienden
Poemas de amor
Posturas sexuales de los dioses
Coreografías que aprenden los planetas

Lindsey Webb and Kelly Hoffer: Artists in Conversation

"Webb and Hoffer met each other through their poems and found aesthetic kinship there.  They eventually met in person and a friendship grew out of mutual interest in land art and good things to eat. In BOMB Magazine, the two get together in a conversation about their work. Poetry that speaks of botanical worlds, grids, Mormonism, and grief that settles in abstraction."

What Sparks Poetry:
Martin Mitchell on Carol Ann Duffy's The World's Wife

"In a way, though, the mundanity of the real story gets at the heart of The World's Wife: throughout the book, our meticulous cultural inheritance—our gods, our legends, our myths, our grandest stories—are stripped of their sheen and recast on a smaller, human scale. The collection is comprised of a series of dramatic monologues from the perspectives of the women who have been sidelined, overlooked, omitted."
