"Mr. Gary Rouster wins this hands down. He walked into my life 25 years ago when I was a troubled junior in high school. He made band a safe, fun place to be. He taught me how to express myself through music and to take pride in myself. His teachings went far beyond the classroom, and still do to this day. He is a major factor for why I am a music teacher today. He is still impacting the lives of many and I hope I can make a difference in a student's life as he has done for countless. I am proud to not only call him my teacher, colleague, but most of all my friend."
