Hi Do, Here are Todd’s latest fun picks to take your financial skills to the next level... I first warned of regime change (or epochal change) to my Expectancy Wealth Planning community in April 2020.
I explained how the future would be inflationary (with proper lag in timing) because of the COVID stimulus and Federal debt problems. Inflation would become structural, and that would change the entire investment epoch.
Nobody was talking about such things back then. It was considered impossible.
I began teaching the idea in late 2021 in this newsletter (once the lag in timing appeared complete).
I provided 2 years of detailed education with monthly resources showing you every aspect of epochal change.
I wanted to make sure you knew how all the puzzle pieces fit together to form an intractable problem forcing a new investment epoch requiring different investment strategy.
Again, none of the experts were on board with my call.
However, with time, the facts became undeniable.
The first big-name to get on board was the great Howard Marks with his article explaining how a "Sea Change" had occurred - different name for regime change, identical conclusion.
Today, it seems every credible major voice is now joining the chorus.
Just remember that you heard it first here, well before the horse was out of the barn.
The three resources below will bring you up to date on how epochal change is progressing.
Each voice brings a different perspective and emphasis to the conversation. Each is seeing a different piece of the elephant that I call "epochal change."
Grant Williams sees the Fed's dilemma, Neil Howe sees the demographics and historical pattern, and Lynn Alden sees the fiscal dominance.
While each shares one piece of the mess that I refer to as epochal change, please know that each considers that one small slice of pie significant enough to proclaim independently that we've entered a new investment epoch.
Just imagine if they were seeing the whole picture (like you get here)... Shift Happens - Grant Williams podcast with Luke Gromen, July 17, 2024 Grant's podcast episodes are usually behind a paywall. When he releases full episodes to the public, it's worth paying attention because there's an important message inside that he want's the public to have access to. This episode makes clear the depths of the Fed's dilemma and how it's forcing regime change. I linked to the Spotify version above, but Spotify links can be a pain, so you can find this episode on your favorite podcast listening platform by just looking for Grant's name and the date. And if you respect Grant's insight's like I do, he provides additional thoughts during this Thoughtful Money interview with Sephanie Pomboy. It's extra credit for passionate students. Neil Howe is a demographer and author of the seminal bestseller, "The Fourth Turning". His entire focus of conversation is how the epoch is changing right now. It's baked in the cake. We're right in the middle of it. Adam Taggart does his usual quality job of interviewing - just be warned that he pitches his financial advisory relationships to pay the bills, which is unfortunate. Of course, I disagree with that conventional investment approach to managing your portfolio during epochal change, and this is my recommended solution. Lyn sees the epochal change freight train barreling down the tracks through the lens of fiscal dominance resulting from structural debts and deficits. The financial problem is so large that it has literally changed how Fed policy impacts financial markets. Yes, it's a new investment epoch. FYI, I don't agree with her portfolio recommendations at the end, and instead prefer my recommended trend following risk management solution here. Get started today before the next big market decline starts. Onward and upward! Todd Tresidder
