Hi Do,

Here are Todd’s latest fun picks to take your financial skills to the next level...

If you're committed to improving your finances this year (who isn't?), then read closely...

I've never failed at a New Year's resolution - a perfect track record!

But that's only because I've never made one.

Setting goals only works for things you can cross off a list like buying a car or taking a 3 week dream vacation.

However, it doesn't work for process oriented goals like health, wealth, relationships, spirituality, happiness, and peace of mind. In short, all the stuff that makes life worth living are processes you can never cross off a list. They're never finished because you will live them until you're six feet underground.

They require an entirely different technology for achievement. Rather than set a New Year's resolution (goal), try setting yourself up for a win by mastering the correct process that will produce the desired outcome. That's what my Expectancy Wealth Planning course teaches, and that's what actually works to get the results you want.

So let's skip the New Year's resolutions this year. Instead, learn how processes work to achieve the most important objectives in your life. You'll be happier for it.

Best of all, these crazy Covid lockdown times are a perfect chance to develop these skills. It's  a smart, strategic use of your time.

Below are two resources to help you get your financial goals and process correct so you you can produce enviable results...

All Personal Finance Experts Are Liars | Larry Ludwig - Former Owner of InvestorJunkie.com

I laughed when I read this article because it's true. Larry is a personal friend who walked-the-talk by teaching the drivel that doesn't work on the personal finance web site that he later sold for $ 6 million. All the personal finance experts tell you the same worn-out advice to reduce spending, increase saving, and invest in low-cost passive index funds. But none of the big-name experts built their wealth that way. Not one. Funny how nobody seems to notice the incongruence. In my Expectancy Wealth Planning course, I take the basic premise in Larry's article to the next level by summarizing multiple research studies from various authoritative sources showing exactly how wealth is built - according to the data (not conjecture and theory). And my entire EWP course is built from the ground-up consistent with those proven results and the inviolable math that determines how wealth grows. Why follow the same old worn-out financial advice in your own financial plan if the experts preaching it don't? You owe it to yourself to learn how wealth building really works and why.

Systems vs. Goals | Scott Adams' Blog

S.M.A.R.T. goals aren't all that smart after all. This brief article by Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame) is a good introduction to the importance of pursuing systems instead of goals. I develop the idea more thoroughly in my Expectancy Wealth course as "process vs. outcome" planning. The nuances are important to doing it well, but this article should at least redirect your thinking away from New Year's resolutions so you can get started in the right direction. If you want something in life, there's a smarter way to achieve it than conventional goal-setting.

"Askew" | Just For Fun!!

My daughter showed this to me, and I cracked up. See it for yourself by Googling the word "askew" in your favorite browser. Go ahead. It takes 10 seconds. Look closely at the results, and I promise it will bring a smile to your day.

Onward and upward!
