Perry Smith
TONIGHT: Thursday, Sept. 27, 6:30-8 PM
Perry Smith is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar and including hand percussion, oud, mandolin, Native American flute, key boards and vocals. Perry accompanies dance classes at UNCW, facilitates drumming programs for special populations, and teaches lessons from his studio at the Art Works. He also plays regularly with Cosmic Groove Lizards, Axiom, Zion, Sea Pans and Narayani. Perry holds degrees in Mathematics with a Certificate to Teach, ASU and Music - Classical Guitar, UNCW.

Lynn Grissett Quartet

Returning to the series by popular demand, trumpeter and saxophonist Lynn Grissett brings a new version of his quartet to the series with Jason Foureman on bass, Jeremy "Bean" Clemons on drums and Ernest Turner on piano performing traditional and modern jazz, and original compositions. Grissett has performed around the world as both a solo artist and as part of elite level ensembles. His many musical accomplishments include performing with Winard Harper, Ellis, Branford and Delfeayo Marsalis, Nile Rodgers, Trombone Shorty, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Ledisi, Cyrus Chestnut, and Prince to name a few of the musicians on his extensive performance list.
