This ongoing series is back in-person and celebrates the best of this unique American musical art form. Borrow a board game to play during the concert and stop by the Courtyard Café for refreshments. In the first performance of the series, join Arco Belo, led by pianist, accordionist, and composer Simone Baron. This GenreFluid ensemble captures an irreverent sound melding reeds, strings, and percussive timbres. A group of high-energy improvisers dedicated to redefining the concert form, Arco Belo presents new, adventurous compositions, reimagining a sound at the intersection of avant-garde chamber music, creative jazz, Brazilian music, and Jewish diasporic music. Their debut album The Space Between Disguises was an editor’s pick in DownBeat and JazzTimes magazines. |
