GLOBAL: Full-service hotel management company Valor Hospitality Partners has announced a partnership with the hospitality and leisure vertical of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD). The government arm manages a portfolio of commercial companies and investments, and thanks to the joint venture, Valor Hospitality has already begun operational transitions of more than 800 keys across hotels in the Emirate.
ATLANTA: DRPG—a U.K.-based, full-service live events and creative communications agency—has opened its permanent North American (NA) headquarters in Atlanta. DRPG has been serving clients on the continent for 30 years, and aims to show its commitment to those clients with the debut of the Atlanta office space. DRPG NA is led by Emma Collins, the executive vice president, North America.
CHICAGO: Now through Dec. 31, cocktail-focused bar and restaurant The Dandy Crown will host a pop-up dubbed “A Very Dandy Holiday.” Kicking off at 3 p.m. daily, the venue will serve festival cocktails curated by Sarah Syman, The Dandy Crown’s beverage director. Highlights on offer include spiked hot cider made with whisky, spiced cranberry syrup, and hot apple cider; the Fa La La La Flip with rum, amaro, cassis, and walnut liqueur; and Christmas on Saturn with gin, passionfruit, and spiced oat horchata.
NEW YORK: Boutique lifestyle hotel Coda Williamsburg is hosting a holiday pop-up Dec. 9-11 where hotel guests and area residents alike are invited to shop a curated selection of self-care goods at 20% off. Featured items include Apothia’s Chrismukkah candle and diffuser, Supergoop sunscreens, Jenni Earle intention bracelets, and more. Patrons who visit the pop-up between noon-4 p.m. each day will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne to sip on while they shop.
SEATTLE: Visit Seattle has hired Michael Woody as its senior vice president, community engagement and public affairs. Once the position takes effect on Jan. 3, 2023, Woody will lead the development and execution of Visit Seattle’s community-centered initiatives alongside the organization’s 700-plus partners and sponsors. He will also oversee Visit Seattle’s public affairs as well as its advocacy, partnership and destination services, and data and research teams. Woody brings nearly four decades of leadership experience in hospitality and tourism to the role.
