Morton, Ill., is known as the Pumpkin Capital of the World. A majority of the world's canned pumpkin is packed in Morton, and The Pumpkin Festival has made the small town a destination for Midwesterners. It draws an estimated crowd of 75,000 people, over four times the population of Morton itself.

Morton, Illinois, a sleepy hollow outside Peoria, calls itself the ‘Pumpkin Capital of the World’ and has the patches to prove it.
