Good afternoon, The line of storms tearing across Louisiana Wednesday have caused extensive street flooding in New Orleans and spawned a damaging tornado in Slidell. Our reporters and photographers are spread out across the area today. Here are the most recent updates on what's affecting our area: Slidell tornado: Emergency officials are surveying the damage from at least one tornado that touched down in Slidell Wednesday morning. Street flooding: Roads across New Orleans are flooded out after several inches of rain fell in the area this morning. Major street flooding appears to be happening in the Gentilly and Mid-City areas, along with parts of the Lower Garden District. Canals rising: Jefferson Parish officials are monitoring canals that are overtopping as the parish's drainage system deals with several lines of torrential rain.
