Torrential rain has been replaced by clear skies and sunshine, however, yesterday's unseasonable weather has left its mark. The heavy downpours across the region caused havoc as roads, businesses and schools were hit by flooding. Penwortham Girls' High School, Mini's Party and Play Centre and The Black Bull Inn were all affected by yesterday's downpours. While both the school and play centre are hoping to be open later this week, management at The Black Bull have said the pub will have to stay closed "for a good few weeks" whilst damage is assessed and repaired. And as quickly as the rain arrived, it's gone, as forecasters are now predicted a mini-heatwave which could last into next week. Fingers crossed!
