Frank Lloyd Wright designed about 1,000 buildings and built about 400 structures during his long, illustrious career. Roughly 60 of those buildings are a series of Usonian-style homes that were initially intended as modestly sized, if architecturally daring, middle-income family homes. One of Wright’s Usonian homes, in a small, naturalistic planned development in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has popped up for sale with an asking price of $1.9 million. Known as the Winn House, the masonry home is most notable for its curved wall of glass that overlooks a landscape that rolls down to the shore of Little Asylum Lake. And on the West Coast, Emmy-winning film and TV composer Jeff Beal, whose credits include "House of Cards" and "Monk," has hoisted his SoCal estate on the market for $4 million. Many of Beals compositions were recorded in the home’s capacious great room, which has acoustically compatible 12-foot ceilings and the required technical systems.
