  The move means all of the chain’s remaining stores will likely close and all merchandise will be sold off, ending a 70-year run in which generations of kids and their parents shopped for birthdays, holidays or just for fun. The chain, weakened by online and big-box rivals, filed for bankruptcy reorganization last year, but was unable to find a buyer or relieve its massive debt burden.
