| | CCTV and the rest, you see Last week, Technical.ly editor Sameer Rao, inspired by David Simon's new HBO miniseries "We Own This City," posed this question: What are your feelings about how police currently use technology? Technical.ly reader and Stemnastics CEO Bernard Smith offered the following response: "Our city will never be safe unless we use technology to stop all the crime in Baltimore city. We talk so much about privacy from law enforcement watching everything we do. I believe [that] if you don’t have nothing to hide, why are you worried about privacy? We need to wire up the city for more cameras, just like in the UK. They have the whole city wired up with surveillance cameras to help deter crime. The police need drones, AI, robots and more to stop crime in Baltimore city." What do you think? Is more police surveillance the answer? Is the UK's model one the US should follow?Let us know how you feel about police technology and the new HBO show by replying to this email or sending a note to baltimore@technical.ly, anytime. — Technical.ly reporter Donte Kirby (donte@technical.ly) P.S.
