We are deeply saddened to inform you of a tragic terror attack that occurred early this morning near the village of Tayasir, between northern Shomron and the Jordan Valley. A terrorist infiltrated an IDF checkpoint, opening fire at close range. Two IDF reserve soldiers were tragically killed, and eight others were injured. The terrorist, armed with an M-16 rifle and wearing a bulletproof vest, exploited the cover of darkness to approach the military outpost. He launched his attack just before 6 a.m., targeting soldiers as they prepared to open the checkpoint for morning traffic. A prolonged gun battle ensued within the compound before the terrorist was neutralized by responding soldiers. This attack is yet another painful reminder of the constant threats Israel faces and the critical role ZAKA Tel-Aviv plays in responding to these tragedies. Our teams are often among the first to arrive, providing essential support in the aftermath of attacks, assisting with the dignified handling of the deceased, and offering aid to grieving families. In these challenging times, your support is invaluable. It ensures that ZAKA can remain ready to respond whenever and wherever we are needed. |
