Today, November 20th, we commemorate the transgender lives lost this last year through violence — 88% of whom were transgender people of color. People who at one time had...
Their hair smoothed
A tear wiped away,
Their art hung on the refrigerator door, and
Had lunch with friends.
People who found or were finding their chosen family - those that support and love them. Individuals who, in turn….
Smoothed hair,
Wiped away a tear,
Hung art on their refrigerator,
Lunched with friends, and
Helped others navigate their way to discovering their true selves.
Please take a look at the 26 people who paid with their lives for the right to live as they authentically identify. And then….
Smooth someone’s hair,
Wipe away a tear,
Hang art on your refrigerator,
Have lunch with a suffering friend, and
Help another find a little more of their truth.
Because that’s what Democrats do.
