Happy New Year!

Difficult to believe it's already January and they year 2023 but here we are. I'm excited for what will hopefully be a year filled with a lot more fun travels for my family and I than the past few years. Thank you for coming along and all of your continued support.

Speaking of air travel and support ... Southwest Airlines has done a remarkable turnaround after a horrific eight days of operations where more than 16,000 flights were canceled. So far today (as of 11:57am PST) they've only canceled 23 flights.

If each of those flights had 150 passengers (most likely more) that means there's at least 2,400,000 million passengers either canceled their plans, made other arrangements or are stuck. If you're one of those stuck passengers, reply to this email and I will see how I can help get you home.

✈ Miles and Points

Do you want to travel more in 2023 using points and miles but need help knowing where to start? If so, this is for you.

We know there is a lot of information to wade through, so to help get started, check out credit card reviews to get a taste of what is currently available. You may also want to check out the best credit card offers to get more ideas.

The key to finding the best card for you is to plan out what you want to get out of travel. Do you plan on traveling domestically? Maybe you have kids and want to take them on a spring break road trip and another over the summer. Or, perhaps you want to visit a European Christmas market next winter and can use a card for international travel

Once you know what you'd like to do and where to go, you can determine what kind of card you'll need. If you are infrequently traveling, a no-annual-fee card can help you earn rewards without the pressure of needing to use the card. Alternatively, if you will be making several trips and would benefit from something with a bit of power behind it, perhaps one of the best travel credit cards for beginners can help get you started.
